Balance of Life

Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 9 – 15 September 2018

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. ‘Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.'”

– Matthew 6:33-34

People are often depressed nowadays. The fast pace of life at the present makes it difficult for anyone to find time for oneself, let alone for others. As a result of this busyness, suicide rates are on the rise.

It is understandable that we focus ourselves on our jobs and on our careers, since life today is more difficult than it was before. However, we should not let our jobs and our career takeover our lives. Our lives are more important than our jobs. Working, while good, should not be the primary focus of our lives.

So, what should we do? We have to learn to balance our lives. It is alright to work, but after working, we should learn to live our lives, to give time to our families and friends, hangout and to praise God in our lives.

Today, God is inviting us to enjoy the live He has given to us. We may not always have the luxury of time to do it, but in small ways we can enjoy our lives both in work and at home.

The Word of God is the light of life
