Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 15 – 21 July 2018


“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

– Psalm 27:14

After a long delay in waiting, a news finally arrived that delivered smile to me. Whatever it is, everyone of us have waited for it for so long. It finally made its way to the headlines and we are glad that we made the wait for the fruits have struggled for so long.

Sounds familiar? Yes we all have that moment wherein we wait for so long that we are so tired and then we want to give up but instead went on despite the challenges. Waiting for so long can be difficult, tiring and at times, frustrating when it doesn’t arrive the first time we expect it to.

But the fruits can be rewarding after waiting for so long.

Jesus Christ is what the humankind has been waiting for so long – a Messiah that will be the salvation for the sins of everybody and defeat death. His arrival marked the fulfillment of God’s long-awaited promise that will result in the ultimate showcase of love. The story is a roller coaster ride from our slavery to Sin to deliverance from it.

Today, let us enjoy the things that God fulfilled after a long wait for us. They are the manifestation of Good News that showed the ultimate sacrifice for us.

God’s promises are fulfilled until the last minute.
