Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 1 – 7 July 2018
“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.”
– Isiah 53:3
We all experience troubles and problems in our lives. We are not living in a perfect world and there will be a point in time wherein we will experience the lowest point. Suffering is never ending.
Jesus Christ suffered for our sins. His sacrifice on the cross is noteworthy. Besides being crucified, Christ also experienced suffering either by His own experience or through the experience of others. His experience in suffering allows Him to be one with us when we are praying to Him for guidance. He knows what we are going through and gives us comfort in our pain.
As we continue to live our lives in this world, we need to be often reminded of God’s love for us. Struggles and pain may always be part of our lives. Because we are going to experience these challenges, Jesus Christ allowed Himself to experience those, so that He will be able to give light to those who need it the most.
Christ understands our pains because He endured pain too.
