Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 14 – 20 May 2017

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Colossians 3:13

Imagine a scenario wherein you went into a faraway place only to be rejected by those who live there. Your home is so far it will take you several hours to go back. What a heartbreaking situation!

Being alone is an unfamiliar place wherein people rejected you is heartbreaking. We may choose to be angry with them and seek revenge or follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ wherein instead of avenging those who have humiliated him during His passion chose to forgive them.

As humans, our instinct will tell us to get even when someone has done wrong against us. Jesus Christ tells us otherwise. We are to act with love, kindness and understanding. As Christians, it is important to forgive as God has forgiven us on on our sins. He is an example to all of us in dealing with the mistakes of others.

Today, God has forgiven you on your sins, will you do the same to others?.

“Forgiveness is a virtue of the brave.” – Indira Gandhi
