“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

I have been reading the book of Genesis recently and found one intriguing part of the story in the Creation of Man and that is The Fall. In this part, Adam and Eve falls to the temptation of the serpent, resulting in the original sin of humankind.

That original sin resulted to the death of Adam and Eve and their descendants including us. This sin made us impure which denied us everlasting life without the grace of God.

Ash Wednesday reminds us of our mortality, that we came from dust and to dust we shall go back. We will die someday, as a result of this sin.

But the grace of God, through Jesus Christ has come. Our earthly bodies will still die, but our souls which defines us will attain everlasting life in paradise with God. Thru Jesus Christ His son, we have received the grace of everlasting life allowing us to be in union with Him and with God the Father when the time comes.
