Coming Soon

Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 18 – 24 December 2016

“A voice is calling: ‘Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.'”

Isaiah 40:3

In televisions, upcoming shows and movies are generally previewed to the public with the words “Coming Soon.” These teasers are meant to increase the public curiosity and the excitement behind the show, thus increasing potential viewership when it goes on air.

The coming of Jesus Christ is also previewed to the world when the prophets before Him told us about Him thru the prophecies. He is such an important figure that they made sure that the good news will reach everyone.

As His coming is important, we should prepare for it. “A voice is calling, ‘Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. Let every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the rugged terrain a broad valley;'” (Isaiah 40:3-4) shows the magnitude of preparation befit for the King of all kings. We may not literally flat out all mountains on earth and level every hills and valley, but it is a representation of the readiness of ourselves we need to undertake to celebrate with great joy the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

As Christmas is only a week away, what have you done to prepare for the coming of the Lord? What can you do to prepare yourself for His coming?

Jesus Christ is coming soon. Be ready!
