The Living Water

Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 9 – 15 October 2016

“but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:14

A problem that I have when staying up at night is the urge to eat. Since I started my diet program it is not an uncommon occurrence to be hungry and look for food. After all, being up for 6 hours since the last time you ate will send your stomach in a revolution of sorts.

A Samaritan woman in the well during Jesus’s time came to dwell water when Jesus saw her. At the same place, Jesus told her about the water that I will give them but they will never be thirsty. The same water represents the life everlasting that Jesus will give for our salvation.

As a world faced with finite resources and shortages, an assurance of an abundance of something is a deal too good to be true. Despite the limited resources we have in this world, God has created a way for everyone to share in His grace. Everything from Him is never ending, infinite and far-reaching. His offer of eternal life, symbolized by water that will not thirst the drinker is only possible thru Him.

As followers of Christ, we are blessed indeed to receive the gift of eternal life from Him with more than enough for everyone.

With God, nothing is the limit.
