scottbloomdecisionsBarasoain Weekly Reflection for 8 – 14 May 2016

“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”

Proverbs 11:14

Tomorrow, 9 May 2016, Filipinos will line up in polling precincts to cast their votes and choose the candidates they believe will be the best in the positions they are running for. Months of campaigning, rallying and even mudslinging highlighted the intense election period in this country to woo in voters.

The election is a process in which people will choose whom they think will be the best for the position. Similar in an election, we also face several choices in our lives and those choices will affect us in small or big ways. We make decisions in every minute of our lives whether what we will eat for breakfast or if we are going to pursue a very big project each has its own choices with different consequences.

Today, knowing elections has been always tumultuous and volatile, let us ask God in our decisions we will make today especially the big ones. As move to troop to the polling precincts let us ask God to give us the wisdom to think our choices and to think the every consequence we will face in the decisions we will make. Let us also pray for the country so that the elected leaders by the people will prevail and that the sanctity of the ballots be respected and kept.

Decisions are best done when God is guiding us.
