Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 27 March – 2 April 2016
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
All of us have at least suffered a downfall in our lives: Failed interview, flunked examinations, sickness or death of a loved one or loss of job. Such problems are common to us human beings. Each suffering we always end up asking what is happening in our lives which makes us deserving to receive such a cruel experience.
Christ, like us, suffered and He even uttered in the cross why God has forsaken Him. Like him, we feel that we are crucified and that God has left us abandoned in the cross when we carry the burden of our lives.
By Easter Sunday, however, we have seen that despite all the suffering that Christ has endured, He has risen and with his resurrection, a new hope shone upon us. We are saved, and thru that salvation, we can now enjoy life-everlasting with God and His son, Jesus Christ. His resurrection symbolizes His victory over death and sin and has become the center of our Christian faith.
With the resurrection of Christ, a new hope dawned upon us, showing that despite the struggles and sufferings we face, there will always be light at the end of the darkness and with the light from God, we can become partakers in the salvation that He himself has offered us.
Resurrection is the manifestation of light at the end of darkness.
