“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

Passion of the Christ is one of the movies that made headlines 12 years ago. It depicted the passion that Christ suffered in an intense graphical movie that the audience wasn’t able to take. People have been accustomed to watching the passion in a less violent way that they were surprised when they saw the film.

But the images in the film is still nowhere compared to the real events that happened on that faithful day. The passion that Christ suffered showed us how vile our sins are and its real cost. But, while the hardship that Christ took that day is unimaginable, it allowed us to be reconciled with God and it paved the way for the forgiveness of our sins.

This week, we will commemorate and remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ did for the salvation of us. His sacrifice for us is so great that every love and our full obedience is not enough to repay it yet He offered salvation for us ready for anybody who wants to accept Him.

Let us remember God’s love for us, for it is through Him that we are saved.

The cross is a reminder of our sinfulness and God’s love for us.
