God’s Plan Is Always Better

Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 26 July – 1 August 2015

072615_1603_GodsPlanIsA1.jpgMany are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

Proverbs 19:21

People plan their lives, their movements and their actions. These plans enable us to prepare for future events and be ready for what will come in our lives.

However, there are times when we plan, there are things that will appear in which we did not anticipate in the first place. These unexpected circumstances can either help or ruin our plans.

On a mindset of a human being, having a ruined plan is an unpleasant experience especially when we have anticipated or prepared for it. But there are times that those do really occur, and when it does, we often moan about it.

But not all ruined plans are totally negative – some of them are blessings in disguise.

When we plan, we do so using our own imperfect mindset. Fortunately, God repurposes us from our plans for us to enjoy far greater fruits that what we have planned. At first, it may seem that circumstances and God have played tricks on our plans but as we look ahead, we start to realize that God may have a purpose for that diversion and we realize that His plan is always better than what we have.

So, as we start another week, while we have plans for ourselves, let us also try to leave space for unexpected events that may arise. Who knows what these unexpected occurrences may bring to us? It may be God’s way of giving us something better than we expect.

Lord, as we start this new week, teach us to prepare
To prepare for unexpected events
For in these unexpected events
Where unexpected gifts we receive

God’s plan is always better than ours.
