May Forever Ba O Wala?

Barasoain Weekly Reflection for 19-25 July 2015

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.”

Psalm 136:1

Every young person will know the question: “May forever ba o Wala?” (Is there a “forever” or not?) This simple question aims to show the status of a person when it comes to love. When a person answers “May forever” (There is “forever”) then the person is happy with his/her love life. When a person answers “Walang forever” (There is no such thing as “forever”) then the person can be said bitter (suffered rejection or breakup) or moving on.

Luckily, we do not need to answer that question when it comes to God’s love. His love is always enduring. There is no need to question the existence of “forever” because his love is eternal and all-encompassing. Whether we are loved or not. Rejection or bitterness does not exist when it comes to God’s love. God loves us simply not because of what we do but rather of what He is.

Every day we receive special graces from Him and has given us the opportunity to live our lives to the fullest. However, the greatest love from God came from the salvation He gave us from Calvary when Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins. His resurrection is a testament of His promise of life-everlasting for everyone who believes in Him.

So as we start another week full of challenges, remember that God is always here. Loving us and giving us what we need without discrimination of what we are. Truly He is the God of love!

God’s Love
Nothing compares
Nothing equates
Nothing exceeds

God’s love is the reason why He saved us.
